autumn window

oh my god. the time, while it’s a seriously good time, is just passing me by.

leo will be four in five days. i’ll be forty in ten days… does anyone know where the brakes are on this life? i feel like if i blink, i might look in the mirror and find myself 105.

you + me = family

tahoe duo
just returned from ringing in my grandpa’s 90th birthday in lake tahoe with 19 family members from all around the globe. it was perfection.

lots of homemade cookies, absolutely perfect weather (the kind of sun you WANT to sit in), lots of laughs, talks, walks, good coffee (we brought our own, of course), my sister in law’s to-die-for chocolate cake, a boat ride, sand, swim, blue-green water, a 5-mile hike along emerald bay to visit grandma’s resting place, and the dreamy soaking in of those auntie, uncle, mom, dad, grandpa, cousin, brother, sister, niece, husband, son faces and hearts that have always been burned deep into me. pure love.

(miss my cat though now that i’m home again)
