went on the most incredible whirlwind food tour of brooklyn and nyc last week (thanks to my own + a few dear friends’ good planning while i was there) and just had to get it all down in one place. hope you enjoy. and if you’re headed to brooklyn and/or nyc, may you really enjoy some or all of these goodies. photos coming soon!

  • kiwiana: green leaf salad w/ garam cashews + grapes, homemade autumn vegetable pie w/ pear chutney, raspberry lamington w/ whipped cream

sunday:

  • trois pommes patisserie: jam-filled donut* (photo)
  • melissa’s: homemade bacon & egg sammich* (photo)
  • prune: lamb shank w/tomato, cinnamon, cumin + lemon*, greek yogurt with honey, candied pumpkin + sugared hay*, mascarpone ice cream w/ salted caramel croutons* (photo)

monday:

  • baked: cupcakes
  • rosa mexicana: guacamole*, yellowtail tartare, flautas de pollos, crab empanadas, shrimp brochette, carne asada con rajas, churros rellenos, banana chocolate chip cake w/peanut butter mousse + cinnamon swirl ice cream*

tuesday:

  • stumptown: coffee, daily brew
  • goat town: house ricotta, grilled country bread + bosc pears*, chicory salad w/apples, parsnips, hazelnuts, ripe blue cheese + horseradish vinaigrette*, cast iron chicken, roasted carrots + garlic agresto sauce
  • little cupcake bakeshop: banana nutella chocolate chip cake* (photo x 2)

wednesday:

  • the pod hotel: la colombe coffee
  • sullivan street bakery: bomboloni w/vanilla bean custard (photo)
  • beecher’s handmade cheese: grilled black forest ham + cheese sandwich, buckwheat salad, “world’s best” macaroni + cheese*
  • the adore: warm madeleine + green tea
  • red rooster: fake mojito, country ham w/ gouda, onion marmalade + currant mustard, fried yard bird*, yams + sweet potato puree, mac + greens*, apple caramel sundae (apple sorbet, bourbon caramel + cinnamon cream)*
thursday:
  • the pod hotel: organic yogurt, fruit + granola, la colombe coffee
  • ma peche: arnold palmer, steamed pork buns, chicken banh mi*
  • milk bar: compost cookie*
